Welcome to Windfall Ranch

Windfall Ranch
is located in San Diego County at an elevation of 3,000 feet, nestled in the foothills just 10 miles east of Alpine, California.

After boarding their horses in North San Diego County for many years, Terry and David Howe gradually lost access to riding trails as development expanded into the area. Some of the trails they once rode are now part of Legoland. When a friend offered them the opportunity to purchase the ranch property, they took it, and in 2000 began developing what is now Windfall Ranch.

Because the ranch is bordered on two sides by Cleveland National Forest, the Howes no longer worry about losing access to trails. Friends often trailer their horses to the ranch to ride, and local riding clubs regularly host organized trail rides there.

While Windfall Ranch provides exceptional access for those who board their horses on the property, it does not offer horse rentals for trail riding.
