Welcome to Windfall Ranch

Windfall Ranch is in San Diego County and nestled at an elevation of 3,000′ in the foothills 10 miles east of Alpine, California.

After keeping their horses in North San Diego County for years, Terry and David Howe found themselves losing riding trails when development came to town (some trails they used to ride on are now Legoland.) They were fortunate to acquire the the ranch property from a friend and in 2000 started developing Windfall Ranch. Since it is bordered on two sides by Cleveland National Forest, the Howe’s no longer worry about losing access to trails. Friends frequently trailer into the Ranch to ride and local clubs will often have organized trail rides at the Ranch. While accessible to those who board their horses here, Windfall Ranch does not rent out horses for trail riding.
